Meet Juniper Culinary Apothecary!
Newest addition to the Mount Vernon Marketplace, an authentic apothecary. Chef Sarah Acconcia’s beautiful brainchild, featuring exquisite spices, tea blends, culinary goodies and exotic herbs.
Sarah honed her broad culinary experience in some of Baltimore’s most eclectic and exciting kitchens. She also runs her own event planning company, called Wild Thyme Event Studio. During her career, she has held the position of Executive Chef of Bookmakers Cocktail Club, Executive Chef at Le Garage, Executive Chef of 13.5% Wine Bar, Sous Chef at the popular Lauraville restaurant Maggie’s Farm, and wood oven cook at the award-winning Woodberry Kitchen. In 2014, the Baltimore City Paper named her Best Chef.
The versatile chef is a 2007 graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) where she earned her bachelor of fine arts in sculpture and printmaking. Sarah was born in New York City and, as the child of a Foreign Service Officer, lived in Bucharest, Romania; Hamburg, Germany and Croughton, England, before the family settled in northern Virginia. During her time at MICA, she fell in love with Baltimore and made it her home. Acconcia says that Juniper is a reflection of where she is now in her life and an integral part of where she hopes to be going.
